Mara Keen is a film and tv composer living and working in New York City and Los Angeles.
About
Mara Keen is a composer, songwriter, producer, and orchestrator for film and tv. Her professional career started in May 2022 when she interned with Emmy winning composer JP Rende, assisting him throughout the entire series of Netflix’s Princess Power, which led to her scoring several shorts for the series. She has done several short films, including Marina Inoue’s Pink Yellow which premiered at the Asian International Film Festival in 2023, Vigil Chime’s Mekaku (2024) Tyler Gurdon’s Would You Love Me? (2024), Scrappack Productions Just One More Thing (2024), and did sound design for Annetta Marion and Gabrielle Fox’s Welcome to Theatre, shown at the Glass Ceiling Breaker’s Film Festival and the Chain NYC Film Festival (2024). Mara has been an Ambassador for the Grammy U New York Chapter since 2024, and that same year was selected as a mentee for the NY SCL Mentor Program. In 2025 she signed with ABKCO Music & Records, and in 2026 was accepted into the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop at Columbia University.
